Overall Recommendation: A Must Have for Pet Turtle Owners |

The Turtle Guide Book surprisingly reader friendly considering that it is an guide on pet turtles. There are high quality pics of the different species and related equipment. The beginners guide section was especially helpful being geared towards those with no prior knowledge of turtles. To say that you will be a turtle expert upon completion of this book might be a bit of a stretch. Some of the species were generalized, but you get a ton of info on a wide variety of turtles. By the time you complete the Turtle Guide Book will know all you need to know and more about owning and caring for pet turtles properly no matter which type you prefer. |

Did you know you can train your Turtle? Not like you can train a dog to sit, but yes you can train a turtle to respond to your touch. This is not recommended at first. Turtles need time to view you as a friend and ally before they are comfortable as your pet. The Turtle guide has some awesome tips on how to get your turtle to be comfortable around you and even let you pet him(or her!). |

The Turtle Guide Book Will Teach You:
|
|
The Turtle Guide Book does a great job of breaking the information down for you and it very reader friendly and easy to follow. Subjects like hibernating and breeding turtles is covered in full with a warning that these are only recommended practices when you've become very familiar with turtles. Alternative methods for both are covered as well. At the end of the book there is even a quiz to see how much the turtle guide has truly taught you about turtles as a species and a pet. Free Turtle TIP: A lot of people attempt hibernating their turtles in a freezer. This is not recommended because refrigeration involves slight temperature changes that can wake your turtle and then freeze him to death. Also, when outdoors turtles dig deep in the mud or sleep at the bottom of ponds where there is a constant unchanging temperature. Please DO NOT try to hibernate a turtle in a freezer. Book or eBook? The Turlte guide is available as an ebook or a physical book which is mailed to your home. There are those who simply prefer not to sit and read a computer screen while others don't seem to mind. Just the ebook costs $24.45 and the physical book costs $39.99. With the physical book you still get the e-book online so you can start reading immediately. There are three seperate e-books (instant online downloads) and the physical book has all three books in one glossy covered paperback.
I'd recommend getting the book as well, but I don't like reading from a computer screen for extended periods of time either. If this doesn't bother you the ebook does have all the same information.

Turtle Guide Book Bonuses The Turtle Guide Book includes two bonus materials: Emergency First Aid and Fighting Algae in Aquariums. The first aid guide was helpful and to the point with a lot of examples of how to prevent illnesses to begin with. This will realistically save money on vet bills in the future. The algae tips were useful, but not nearly as impressive as the first aid guide. Together they compliment the book quite well. |
