Theres a flood of positive feedback all over the internet for Jamorama.  This was a good product, but I felt that it was a beginners course.

If you ask some people Jamorama will make you the next Jimmy Hendrix.  This simply isn't true as there is not enough content to reach the advanced level.

That's not to say that Jamorama is a bad product.  There is a ton of information and bonuses to get you playing chords on day one.

Intermediate and advanced players may want to look else where.

Jamorama Homepage

Jamorama is a program designed to teach you to play the guitar by ear

Jamorama hones your listening and guitar playing skills through 2 ebooks with 148 video lessons.  As the lessons progress they teach you more.

The videos and audio are good quality with a lot of split screens that show what the fret hand and the striking hand should be doing simultaneously.

There are 26 jam tracks to play along with which is a fun and engaging way for the student to practice what they've learned.

Pros

Jamorama is perfect for those that want to see fast results.  By teaching you to play by ear Jamorama cuts out a lot of the musical theory to get you playing quickly.

The course is fun with lessons that progress fairly naturally.

The GuitEarIt game alone is invaluable to any aspiring guitar player.  Recognizing tone and pitch are essential to truly understand the guitar.

Cons

At it's core Jamorama is a great beginners course for the guitar, I just didn't see enough content to get you to the next level.

Musical theory and notation are glossed over, but ignored for the most part.

You do not need theory to learn how to play, but if you ever have aspirations of writing your own music you will need to learn these concepts.

The hype is that by the time you've completed Jamorama you'll be touring the globe as a famous guitar player and this is simply not true.

Recommendation

If you're the type that just wants to play for fun and learn the basics this is perfect for you.  You can't beat the price and  Jamorama will teach you solid fundamentals on the guitar.

If you are already a guitar player of intermediate skill level wanting to get better, Jamorama does not have enough content to get you where you want to be.

This program was designed to take someone with zero guitar skills and get them playing quickly.

The price is more than fair for what you receive.  The bonuses actually completment the content very well.  If you are just starting out with a guitar you can't go wrong with Jamorama.
